Spend your offshore budget on something finished.
£2,000 buys 160 offshore hours. It can also buy a finished feature.
Why go offshore?
To cut your monthly costs. A full-time UK developer is a salary, employer National Insurance, and a pension, every month. 160 offshore hours cost less than half of that.
The risks
- The £2,000 is hours only. You still write the brief, answer the questions, review the work, and accept it.
- An hours team works to instruction. Someone has to decide what happens next, every day, and that someone is you.
- 160 hours is not a finished feature. The money can be gone, and the piece still not done.
- Putting it right afterwards is usually charged at a UK rate, on top of what you have already spent.
Use a contractor or an agency worker you trust, so you will not be the one who pays to put it right.
Why not a fixed scope for a fixed price?
A senior UK contractor works to an outcome. I ask the questions that matter, make the small calls, and tell you early when something will not work.
- The scope is named before the work starts. You are not buying hours.
- The price is agreed up front. It does not grow because the work took longer.
- There is a clear done. You can take the result, on your accounts, then handover.
- You can stop. The next piece is a separate quote.
What £2,000 can buy
- A website form that puts leads into the CRM you already pay for, with the follow-up email.
- Online booking or payments added to the site you already have.
- A report or export your team currently builds by hand.
Same £2,000 a month. Instead of 160 hours, a finished feature, released in small steps as we go. The kind of thing a full-time team ships in a sprint.

Payment terms are 50% up front and 50% on completion. You never pay in full for something unfinished. Offshore is a November 2026 quote for 160 hours. Full-time is £50,000 a year: pay £4,166.67, employer National Insurance £562.50, and pension £109.40 a month. National Insurance is 15% above £5,000 (£6,750 a year), before any Employment Allowance. Pension is 3% of qualifying earnings (£1,312.80 a year). A day is the year's cost divided by 260 working days (£223.32), and an hour is a day divided by 8. Your time is costed at the full-time hour.
